About the Role

Global freight forwarding and third-party logistics provider, offering ocean, air, and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) services alongside customs clearance for import and export shipments. Job Description - Location: Secaucus, NJ (On-site) Time Zone - Eastern Time Zone (ET) Budget - USD $80K - 120,000 / annual "An international freight forwarder and customs brokerage with more than 30 years in business is hiring a licensed customs broker for its Secaucus, New Jersey headquarters. You will own import entries across air and ocean freight, from classification through release and post-entry work. Why work here Three decades of stability. The company has moved international freight since the mid-1990s and has stayed in business through every trade cycle since. Variety on every desk. Air freight, ocean freight (FCL and LCL as an NVOCC), trucking, bonded warehousing, e-commerce fulfillment, express, exhibition freight and project cargo run through one operation. Your entries will span general cargo, hazardous materials, perishables and restricted goods. Work with a purpose. A dedicated humanitarian aid and relief logistics practice puts your license behind shipments that matter. Compliance is a priority. The company holds IATA, CNS, CTPAT and NVOCC credentials, so the broker's judgment carries weight. People-first culture. Accountability, integrity and loyalty are the stated core values, and leadership credits its people as the reason clients stay. Expect a collaborative, transparent, fast-moving team. International reach. Warehousing in the United States and the United Kingdom gives you exposure beyond a single port. A prime gateway location. Secaucus sits roughly 10 miles from Port Newark–Elizabeth and Newark Liberty International Airport, inside the largest port complex on the East Coast, with NJ Transit rail at Secaucus Junction. What you'll do Prepare, review and transmit entries and entry summaries through ACE/ABI for air and ocean imports. Classify merchandise under the HTSUS and determine value, origin and duty treatment, including Section 232 and 301 measures, AD/CVD and free trade agreement claims. File and monitor Importer Security Filings (10+2), in-bond movements and bonded warehouse entries. Manage Partner Government Agency requirements, including FDA, USDA/APHIS, EPA, CPSC and FCC. Clear hazardous, perishable and restricted shipments with complete, accurate documentation. Respond to CBP requests for information and notices of action (CF-28, CF-29), and handle post-summary corrections, protests and liquidation follow-up. Advise importers on compliance, documentation and landed cost, and act as the escalation point for holds and exams. Exercise responsible supervision and control over entry work, and keep records to 19 CFR Parts 111 and 163. Work with the air, ocean, trucking and warehouse teams to move freight from arrival through release and delivery. What you bring Required Active U.S. Customs Broker License in good standing with CBP. 3+ years of hands-on entry filing at a customs brokerage or freight forwarder. Working command of the HTSUS, 19 CFR, customs valuation and PGA requirements. Air and ocean import experience, with daily ACE portal and ABI use. Clear, fast communication with importers, carriers and CBP. Preferred Experience with hazardous materials, perishables or FDA-regulated goods. Exposure to exhibition freight, ATA carnets, temporary importation under bond or project cargo. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation. Familiarity with CTPAT program requirements."
